ECE Students Among Winners of Dean's Doctoral Research Award Competition

Two ECE graduate students were among the top four winners at the Dean's Doctoral Research Award Competition held on Sunday, May 3, prior to the Board of Visitors Dinner.

Beibei Wang, a Ph.D. student advised by Professor K. J. Ray Liu, tied for second place for her research, title "Dynamic Spectrum Allocation over Cognitive Radio Networks." Her research interests include dynamic spectrum allocation and management in cognitive radio networks, wireless communications and networking, information theory, game theory and learning, multimedia communications, and security. She received a check for $1000 for placing second.

Enlu Zhou, advised by Professors Steve Marcus and Michael Fu, won third place for her research, titled "Particle Filtering for Decision Making and Optimization." Zhou, who is expected to receive her Ph.D. degree later this year, will join the Department of Industrial & Enterprise Systems Engineering (IESE) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as an Assistant Professor in the coming fall. She received a check for $500 for placing third.

"Their research accomplishments is a testament to the level of scholarship produced by Clark School students and faculty," said Dr. Darryll Pines, Dean of the Clark School.
