In 2013, ECE's annual career fair drew more than 45 prospective
employers looking to hire our electrical and computer engineers.
ECE students and staff participating in engineering projects around the
world through Engineers Without Borders.
The ECE community values and celebrates its diversity at International
Day each year--sharing traditional dishes, music, customs, and dress.
ECE professors, alumni and students often find their innovations lead to technical
ventures. The University of Maryland is a launch pad for their future success.
Professor Myron Creese was the first electrical engineering faculty member hired
by the Maryland Agricultural College, the academic institution from which UMD originated.
The Electrical and Computer Engineering department researches innovations in
sustainability. In our labs you can find research on solar cells, wind energy or transportation electrification.
