Electrical and computer engineering professor Mark Shayman, who has served as associate dean for faculty affairs and graduate studies for six years in the Clark School, has taken a job as associate dean for student success in the UMD Graduate School, effective July 1. His primary responsibilities will include graduate outcomes assessment; oversight of initiatives related to writing for graduate students and RCR and scholarly integrity; advancement of best practices in mentoring, advising, professional development, and placement; and liaison with the Division of Research on matters pertaining to post-doctoral fellows and associates.

"I am truly grateful to Mark for all his contributions to the Clark School," said Clark School Dean Darryll Pines. "During his tenure, he launched the Future Faculty Program, Faculty Development Workshop, Graduate Visitation Day, and a number of other successful programs on behalf of the faculty and students of the Clark School."

The Clark School is launching a search for a new associate dean of faculty affairs and graduate studies.
