Ninety-eight high schools in the state of Maryland are included among Newsweek magazine's list of "America's Best High Schools," according to the Baltimore Sun. No other state had such a large contingent of schools on the list, reported the Sun.
Among those 98 schools are 20 of the top 25 schools in the state from which the Clark School draws its students. Five of those schools were in the top 100 of Newsweek's list.
The schools were ranked according to a system developed by Jay Mathews, a columnist for The Washington Post, which took into account the number of students taking Advanced Placement and/or International Baccalaureate classes and exams.
