Khaligh receives NSF & UMD Sustainability grant for electric vehicles laboratory

Assistant Professor Alireza Khaligh (ECE/ISR) has received a National Science Foundation Transforming Undergraduate Education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics(TUES) grant and an award from the University of Maryland Sustainability Fund to develop an educational laboratory on hybrid electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

This laboratory will be used to educate and train students on the fundamentals of electric and hybrid electric vehicles, and expose them to this rapidly developing technology. It will provide a fundamentals-based, application-oriented education that prepares students for industry and R&D-oriented careers.
