ECE alumnus Andres Kwasinski (Ph.D., '04) has joined the faculty of the Department of Computer Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

Dr. Kwasinski's research and teaching focus is in the areas of digital signal processing and networking/communications. Within these areas, Andres has conducted research specifically in multimedia wireless communications and networking, cross layer designs (especially joint source-channel coding and resource allocation), multiple access to wireless networks, user cooperative communications, implementation of DSP algorithms, and speech and video processing for wireless communications.

Kwasinski was advised by Prof. K.J. Ray Liu during his time studying in Maryland's Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department and Institute for Systems Research (ISR), and served as a postdoc within ISR after graduating. Before joining the faculty at RIT as assistant professor, he worked in industry as a software design engineer at Texas Instruments.
