Dagenais Named Fellow of the Optical Society of America

Prof. Mario Dagenais

ECE Professor Mario Dagenais was recently named a Fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA). In their last board meeting in September, the OSA Board of Directors elected Prof. Dagenais to the rank of Fellow of the Society.

Dagenais was recognized for pioneering contributions in quantum optics and nonlinear optics of gases and semiconductor devices, and for the development and integration of active semiconductor devices.

The mission of the Optical Society of America (OSA) is to promote the generation, application and archiving of knowledge in optics and photonics and to disseminate this knowledge worldwide. With a membership of more than 14,000 optics and photonics scientists, engineers, educators, technicians and business leaders from over 81 countries, the Optical Society of America is the prime Optical Society in the world.
