Alumnus Harold Smith Named VP of CSC's Intelligence Division

Harold "Hal" C. Smith, '80

ECE alumnus Harold "Hal" C. Smith (B.S., electrical engineering, 1980) has joined Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) as vice president and general manager of intelligence and law enforcement for the company's North American Enforcement, Security and Intelligence (ESI) division.

In this role, Smith will have responsibility for delivering business solutions to customers in the intelligence and law enforcement communities, and will lead CSC's efforts to provide innovative technology solutions to help customers meet their missions.

Smith joins CSC from SAIC, where he was a senior vice president of the Intelligence, Security and Technology Group, with a focus on merger and acquisition strategy. Prior to his position with SAIC, he was president and chief operating officer of Telecordia.

Smith has served in several U.S. government information technology (IT) leadership positions. He also currently serves as a member of the Central Intelligence Agency Director's Board of Advisors.

Smith holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland and has completed postgraduate studies in electrical engineering at Catholic University.
