Announcements for ENEE312H Spring 2002

14May02: The review session for the final will be Sunday May 19 in the Reckord Armory Room 0101, starting at 12 noon. For the final exam, you will be allowed two single-sided letter-size (8.5" by 11") sheets of notes (front and back of one page, or on two separate pieces of paper).

27Apr02: Read sections 5.9 and 5.10 from Chapter 5 of Sedra and Smith. The discussion session on Tuesday, 30Apr02, will be a review for the quiz on Thursday, 2May02. The review session for the final exam will be on Sunday, 19May02.

23Apr02: Read sections 5.6 through 5.7 from Chapter 5 of Sedra and Smith.

16Apr02: Read sections 5.1 through 5.4 from Chapter 5 of Sedra and Smith.

10Apr02: Read sections 6.1 through 6.5 from Chapter 6 of Sedra and Smith.

21Mar02: Read sections 3.1-2, 3.4-5, and 3.7-8 of Sedra and Smith. Please turn in Homework #3 by tomorrow (Friday Feb 22) if you want me to return it on Tuesday; otherwise you may also turn it in on Monday.

19Feb02: Quiz #1 is next Thursday, Feb 28. Homework #4 will be handed out on Thursday of this week but is not due until Thursday, Mar 7. You may bring a single sheet of paper (single-sided, no larger than 8.5" by 11") with notes to the quiz; calculators will be allowed but you may not use any programmed functions other than standard scientific functions (i.e., ln, log, exp). On Tuesday, Mar 5, I will review material for the quiz during the discussion time at 8am. All ENEE312H students are encouraged to apply for the MERIT program to participate in summer research; the application deadline is March 1, 2002.

12Feb02: As you work on Homework #2, you may want to refer to the handout for 12Feb02, and the Einstein relation, which states that the diffusion coefficient D is the product of the thermal voltage kT/q and the mobility.

31Jan02: The discussion remains at the original time, 8am Tuesday. On 05Feb02 Makesh will be available to answer questions regarding course material or the homework. Hard copies of the e-text are now available outside 2211 AVW (thanks to Makesh!).

29Jan02: Send email to pabshire@glue.umd.edu with your class schedule by tomorrow (30Jan) if you want to try and change the discussion time.
