Preliminary Questions

1.
Calculate the current though the 10K resistor in figure 6.1. If R2=5K, calculate the collector voltage at Q2.

Calculate the small signal gain of the circuit in For the circuit in figure 6.2, calculate the small signal gain assuming the resistance of the potentiometer is zero. (The potentiometer is shorted.) Also calculate the input and output resistances at midband frequencies assuming the potentiometer is shorted.
3.
Reverse the inputs by grounding the base of Q1 and input the signal into Q2. What is the gain now?
4.
Calculate the small signal OPEN LOOP gain (no feedback) for the circuit in figure 6.3. Also, calculate Rin and Rout.
5.
Which is the inverting and which is the noninverting input?
6.
Show how you would attach a feedback loop to attain a voltage gain of -10. (Neglect loading effects of the feedback.)
