Mazumdar, Varma, and Wu Named Distinguished Dissertation Fellows

Three Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Ph.D. students have been selected as ECE Distinguished Dissertation Fellows for 2010-11.  

The fellowships are awarded to outstanding students in the final stages of dissertation work in recognition of their research excellence.  This year, each fellowship recipient will receive $5,000. The winners will be scheduled to present as a part of the ECE Graduate Student Association (ECEGSA) seminar series.

Arya Mazumdar (advised by Prof. Alexander Barg), Sanjay Varma (advised by Prof. Howard Milchberg), and Yongle Wu (advised by Prof. K.J. Ray Liu) were the winners.

Additionally, Yan Chen (advised by Prof. K.J. Ray Liu), Yu-hsin Chen (advised by Prof. Howard Milchberg), Peter Dykstra (advised by Prof. Reza Ghodssi), and Matteo Mischiati (advised by Prof. P.S. Krishnaprasad) were recognized with Honorable Mention ($1,000 award for each student).

The selection committee included Professors Gang Qu (chair), Min Wu, Mel Gomez, and Richard La.
