Gligor Named Chair of ACM SIGSAC

Professor Virgil Gligor

ECE Professor Virgil Gligor has been elected as Chair of the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Security Audit and Control (ACM SIGSAC).

Dr. Gligor was nominated for the position by fellow colleagues and ACM members, and was appointed by the ACM SIG Governing Board Chair.

The ACM SIGSAC seeks to further develop the information security profession by sponsoring high quality research conferences and workshops.

Founded in 1947, ACM and its 80,000 members are dedicated to advancing the skills of information technology professionals and students worldwide. ACM offers Special Interest Groups in 34 distinct areas of information technology, including programming languages, graphics, computer-human interaction, and mobile communications.
