Abstract: Identifying and spatially resolving the functionality of micron-structure photovoltaic devices is crucial to the design of next generation devices with high efficiency and low cost. We demonstrate a variety of high resolution measurement techniques that map key optical and electrical properties of solar cells in order to evaluate their performance at the nanoscale. We apply these techniques to different solar cell materials, from monocrystalline GaAs to polycrystalline thin-films, demonstrating the versatility of these methods.
