Former ECE Post-Doc Appointed Full Professor at the University of Naples

Claudio Serpico, a former post-doctoral researcher of Professor Isaak Mayergoyz in ECE, has been appointed Full Professor in Electrical Engineering at the University of Naples “Federico II”.

He was with Prof. Mayergoyz from 1998-2000 at the University of Maryland. In 2008, Mayergoyz and Serpico co-authored a book, “Nonlinear Magnetization Dynamics in Nanosystems,” with Giorgio Bertotti, a senior scientist at Italy's National Institute of Metrological Research. This team also published a 2009 article on Magnetization Dynamics in APS Physical Review B – Rapid Communication.

Serpico’s research interests are in the areas of Micromagnetics, Hysteresis Modeling, Electrodynamics of Materials, Nonlinear Dynamics in Circuits and in Electromagnetic Systems, and finally Computational Physics.

He also served as an Editor of IEEE Transactions on Magnetics in the areas of electromagnetism, computational magnetics, and electromagnetic devices.
