Chellappa Receives Outstanding Engineer Alumni Award

Minta Martin Professor of Engineering Dr. Rama Chellappa (ECE/UMIACS/CS) was selected to receive the Outstanding Electrical and Computer Engineer (OECE) alumni award from Purdue University. The award was established in 1992 to recognize Purdue alumni who have demonstrated exemplary accomplishments, leadership and service to the community.

The 2010 OECE Awards will be presented at Purdue's annual ECE Awards Banquet on September 10, 2010.

Prof. Chellappa received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Purdue in 1978 and 1981, respectively. Since 1991, he has been a Professor of Electrical Engineering and an Affiliate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Maryland, College Park.
