Give to ECE: Great Expectations Campaign

MEET THE STUDENTS

photo

Michael's Three Favorite Things about the ECE Department:

1) ECE has great professors
2) The advising is comprehensive and not only talks about what you're going to do next semester, but also with after college
3) There is a good system to get internships/co-ops

Advice to Incoming Students:

Take your classes seriously. Go to class and study all throughout the year so that at finals time you don't have to cram so hard.

Michael
talks about ECE @ Maryland:

"When I came to Maryland on visits, I heard how our math, computer science and engineering departments were top notch. That, along with the fact that Maryland had an awesome football team and basketball team, made the decision to come here a no-brainer.

The students here are self-motivated and very intelligent.

The professors I had in ECE were excellent.   They are willing to meet and talk to you and stay very informed.

The advising is comprehensive and not only addresses what you're going to do the next semester, but also after college. There is a good system to get internships and co-ops. I love the immediate push into computer engineering and computer science that I received.

I am particularly interested in research related to natural language processing, robotics, and new user interfaces for computers."
