ECE Graduate Handbook

Non-ENEE Pre-Approved Courses for the ECE Graduate Program

All ENEE courses at the 400-level and above (except ENEE 499) are automatically pre-approved for inclusion in the Plan of Study. The table below lists non-ENEE pre-approved courses as of the start of Fall 2005; visit the departmental website (www.ece.umd.edu) for the most updated list. (Non-ENEE courses not listed here require approval by the Graduate Studies and Research Committee or Graduate Director.)

Ph.D. students: It should be noted that graduate courses (600-level or above) in this list can be counted toward item 6 in the Ph.D. Course Requirement (6 credits of non-ENEE courses) only if they are not also listed as equivalent to an ENEE course. Also, courses that are cross-listed as ENEE courses (i.e., originate in another department) do not count towards the Ph.D. non-ENEE course requirement.
