ECE Graduate Student Advising


The ECE Graduate Studies Office will hold two MS and two PhD advising sessions to review degree requirements and answer any questions you may have about the graduate program. You must attend one session.

Payroll and Benefits Orientation


The Payroll Office of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering will conduct three orientation sessions to provide forms and information needed to complete your appointment. All new Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants, and Fellows must attend one session. International students should bring their passports and I-20s, and US citizens and permanent residents should bring their driver's licenses. If possible, all students should bring their bank account information to set-up direct deposit. To view descriptions of health benefit plans and insurance premiums for each plan prior to the payroll orientation, visit the University Human Resources website.

ECE TA Orientations


This orientation will prepare you for your first semester as a Teaching Assistant. All students who will be serving as a TA in the Fall, including Fellows, are required to attend.

Additionally, all international students serving as Teaching Assistants in the fall are required to take the International Teaching Assistant Evaluation given by the Maryland English Institute (MEI). To help prepare you for this evaluation, ECE will be holding the following prepatory session.

Teaching and Learning Transformation Center (TLTC) Orientation


All students who will be serving as a TA for the first time in the fall, including Fellows, are required to attend this University-wide orientation for Teaching Assistants. Visit the TLTC website to register for this event.
