The SI Organization

Company Website: http://www.thesiorg.com

Company Description: The SI was founded in 1972 in Valley Forge, Pa., as part of General Electric Aerospace. At that time, a team of 60 engineers began providing systems engineering and integration expertise to the Intelligence Community. The SI helped the Intelligence Community create a full-spectrum intelligence system that integrated space assets with other intelligence operations.

The SI quickly earned a reputation as a world-class analysis shop and was widely recognized as the industry gold standard for ethical behavior and organizational conflict of interest (OCI) mitigation. The business gained traction and grew steadily throughout the 1980s and 1990s, expanding into Northern Virginia, Maryland, and, eventually, internationally.

Bill Graham took the helm in 2002, and the SI expanded its core services to provide highly classified, mission-critical capabilities to the nation’s intelligence agencies. Increasing government concern over OCI risks led to an increasingly constrained business. To enable sustained excellence and continued growth, the SI was divested by Lockheed Martin in 2010 and acquired by Veritas Capital. The SI now exists as an independent company, unencumbered by OCI restrictions.
