Gyorgy Porkolab

Research Interests 

  • Nanofabrication and microfabrication of photonic devices
  • Lightwave devices


22 years experience in research and development in nanofabrication and microfabrication of solid state physics based semiconductor devices in semiconductor and thin-film substrates. Devices include electronic, photonic and mechanical functionalities. Worked in university, government and industrial research laboratories, and in industrial manufacturing facility (CMOS DRAM fab). Scales of companies worked for range from multi-national global mega corporation, to thirty year old small-business, to venture-capital backed initial start-up companies. Earned Ph.D. at Cornell University in Electrical Engineering and Materials Science specializing in micro- and nano-technology.

Specialties: Research and development in nanofabrication and microfabrication of semiconductor devices and associated thin film devices. Interested in applying nanotechnology to biomedical problems.
