Sherif Marakby

The Ford Motor Company

Biography: Sherif Marakby is the Global Director of Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineering (EESE) at Ford Motor Company. He is responsible for electronic components on all Ford vehicles globally. This includes Infotainment Systems, Driver Assist Features, and Connectivity. Marakby earned his Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.

Marakby’s career at Ford Motor Company spans 25 years. His experience in the automotive industry took him around the globe and focused on various elements of vehicular systems. He spent 2 years in Ford of Europe working on Powertrain systems and components, and also worked as the Vehicle Line Director for the C-car developing the C2 platform. He also spent six years as Chief Engineer and Director developing Hybrid, Plugin Hybrid, and Battery Electric vehicles. He served as Chief Program Engineer on several vehicles including the Ford Escape, too. Early in his career he spent time working in manufacturing plans and held several engineering positions in electrical and body engineering.
