On behalf of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Graduate Student Association (ECEGSA), I am pleased to welcome all of you to the 2005-2006 academic year. Our mission is to improve the quality of education and life of the ECE graduate students through social, academic and professional activities. We want to develop a sense of community among the graduate students, as well as promote excellence and diversity.

We have been working successfully with the Department Chair and various departmental committees towards making your experience at UMD an enjoyable one. Our association has been very active in the past academic years. Last year, we were even able to expand the range of our functions, thanks to the efforts of all the ECEGSA volunteers who contributed time and energy to make the ECEGSA one of the most successful student associations on campus.

I would like to ask all of you to embrace our efforts with your participation. Since it is a volunteer organization, I would appreciate any help from you. I strongly believe that the next generation of graduate students will continue the tradition and make ECEGSA an even more successful student group!
