ECE Computer Classroom Utilization

Possible uses for the Allied Signal and Jasmine Computer Classrooms include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Lecture:
Classes with a high degree of computer content and 24 or fewer students can be scheduled to meet regularly in the Jasmine and Allied Signal labs.
  • Recitation:
Classes which have a large lecture section can schedule recitations in the Jasmine and Allied Signal labs. During recitation, the TA can show the students how to use the software, and can demonstrate examples of course concepts using the software.
  • Demonstrations:
Courses that are more suited for a traditional lecture format without computer interaction, can still benefit from the Jasmine and Allied Signal labs by scheduling a few classes in the lab for special demonstrations or tutorials.
  • Exams:
The Jasmine and Allied Signal labs can be scheduled for examinations to permit computer based tests using the specialized software in the lab.
  • Projects:
Students can be assigned computer projects and homework problems that require the specialized software only available in the Jasmine and Allied Signal Labs.
  • Short Courses:
Finally, the Jasmine and Allied Signal Labs are ideally suited for computer based short courses.
If you are interested in scheduling your class in the room, please send email to Jeff McKinney.
