Biography:
Dr. Gillespie received an MS and PhD in physics from New Mexico State University in 1975 and 1983, respectively, and a BS in Astronomy from Ohio State University in 1973. She has over 30 years experience in various aspects of target acquisition using electro-optic sensors, working principally for the Army. Her research interests have primarily focused on modeling and mitigating battlefield effects on electro-optics sensors and systems. She has worked for New Mexico State University Physical Sciences Laboratory; OptiMetrics, Inc.; Army Atmospheric Science Laboratory, and most recently Army Research Laboratory. She is a member of SPIE and the Optical Society of America. She has been a technical manager at ARL since 1998, working first in the Computer Science and Information Directorate, and most recently in the Sensors and Electron Devices Directorate and is currently the Associate Chief for the Electro-Optics and Photonics Division.
