ECE graduate students Mohamed Fahmi, Alfred Haas, Vishal Khandelwal, Sean Leventhal, Yao Li, Rania Mameesh, Nicole Nelson, David Sander, Steven Tjoa, and Peng Xu were selected as 2006-2007 Distinguished Teaching Assistants.

At the end of each academic year, the Center for Teaching Excellence recognizes outstanding graduate teaching assistants at the University of Maryland. Only the top ten percent of all teaching assistants within a department are selected by the department chair for this honor.

A reception was held for Distinguished Teaching Assistants at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center in May, and the students were presented with a certificate recognizing their contributions as graduate TAs.
