Small Times Ranks University of Maryland #1 in Nanotechnology Research & Education

Small Times magazineThe New Jeong H. Kim Facility has named the University of Maryland as the #1 university in Nanotechnology Research and Education.

In the report, Small Times cited the new Jeong H. Kim Building, the Maryland NanoCenter, nearly 100 faculty, 120 published papers in 2004, and more than 400 grants for the Nano Research ranking, and five undergraduate and six graduate level nanotechnology courses for the Nano Education ranking.

The University of Maryland also tied for second in the Micro Research rankings.

Universities were evaluated based on research, educational opportunities, resources, commercialization and industry outreach. Peer assessments were also considered for the report.
