AVS 49th Annual Symposium This annual symposium, held on November 3 -
8. 2002, offered an extensive agenda of technical symposia, topical
conferences, special sessions, and short courses. MEMS at the AVS
conference this year had a strong emphasis on topics that include materials
characterization, fabrication techniques, integration strategies, and other
processing related areas that have become less emphasized at traditional
MEMS conferences but nonetheless are of vital importance to the field.

to present and discuss recent advances in microfabrication technologies for
