Computer Engineering Curriculum
Courses Approved for Category F
(CP Majors Only)
The following is a comprehensive list of engineering courses that may be used to fulfill the computer engineering "Category F" requirement. These are partitioned into "Group I" and "Group II" courses.
"Category F" is composed of 300- or 400-level engineering courses that satisfy each of the following conditions: (1) it has at least one 200-level pre-requisite in engineering, mathematics, or the sciences or the equivelent of this; (2) it is not an ENEE or CMSC course; (3) the material is not closely related to electrical engineering (e.g., ENME350 & 351 "Electronics and Instrumentation I & II"); and (4) it is not cross-listed as either ENEE or CMSC (e.g., ENRE489E: "Software Reliability Testing" is cross-listed as CMSC498C; thus, it does not satisfy the "Category F" requirement). Special approval requests should be directed in writing/email to the ECE Undergraduate office. Note: Some coures listed below have prerequisites (underlined) that do not satisfy CP major requirements. However, some of the underlined courses have equivalent pre-requisites (e.g., MATH240=MARH461) which do satisfy CP requirements.
