Benchmarks
Computer Engineering

A benchmark is a standard against which your academic progress is measured. Your progress toward degree completion is benchmarked at three points which vary depending on when you matriculated and whether or not you are an incoming freshman or transfer student.

If you do not meet a benchmark and are not making timely progress towards your degree, you will be required to meet with an ECE advisor before the start of the next semester. If appropriate, you and your advisor will develop a revised plan detailing the timely completion of remaining degree requirements. This will be forwarded to the Associate Dean for review and approval. The Associate Dean's decision will determine whether or not you will be allowed to continue on with the major and/or in the College of Engineering. If you are not following an approved plan and not progressing satisfactorily towards your degree, then you will not be eligible to continue in the College of Engineering..

The exact benchmark requirements that apply to you are detemined by your matriculation date and whether or not you entered UMCP as a freshman or transfer student. The benchmarks are listed below by matriculation date.
