The following benchmark requirements are for freshmen. There are three benchmarks. The first is reviewed by the College after you have completed 45 credits. The second and third benchmarks are monitored by ECE. These are checked after your fourth and sixth semssters respectively.

There are two benchmarks for transfer students. The first will be reviewed after completion of your second 16-week semester, and the second will be reviewed two semesters after that. The specific courses included in these benchmarks are determined by an approved graduation plan done in consultation with an ECE advisor during each student's first semester in ECE.

ENCP Engineering Benchmarks

By 45 credits, ENCP majors must complete the following (Review done by Office of Undergraduate Advising and Academic Support):

1. Fundamental Studies English (University Requirement)
2. MATH 141 with a grade of 'C' or better
3. PHYS 161 with a grade of 'C' or better
4. CHEM 135 or CHEM 113 with a grade of 'C' or better
5. ENES 100 with a grade of 'C' or better
6. CMSC 132 with a 'C' or better (Reviewed by ECE Department)
7. No more than one repeat of any of the courses above
8. Minimum GPA of 2.0

By the end of the Fourth Semester, ENCP majors must complete the following with a grade of 'C' or better (Review done by ECE Office of Undergraduate Studies):

1. Mathematics courses: MATH140, 141, and 246
2. Physics courses: PHYS161 and 260/261
3. Chemistry courses: CHEM135
4. Electrical Engineering courses:
• ENEE 200
• ENEE 205
• ENEE 222
• ENEE 245
5. Computer Science courses:
• CMSC 216
• CMSC 250

By the end of the Sixth Semester, ENCP majors must complete the following with a grade of 'C' or better (Review done by ECE Office of Undergraduate Studies):

1. ENEE 206
2. ENEE 303
3. ENEE 307
4. ENEE 322
5. ENEE 350
6. CMSC 330
7. CMSC 351
8. At least one of the following: ENEE324, 446, OR one course from the list of computer engineering electives
